United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes has announced strategic investments totaling $57.5 million to approximately 200 nonprofit partner programs across a six-county region during the 2020-2024 grant cycle. This announcement comes as United Way gears up for its 2024 annual campaign and January campaign kickoff, where they will announce their 2023 collective impact and latest public goal.
Program investments were informed by Social Determinants of Health--nonprofit agencies’ critical work addressing the biological, psychological, and social factors that impact every facet of the human experience from prenatal to adulthood. Program allocations are made possible by individual, corporate, foundation, and United Way endowment contributions to United Way’s Community Impact Fund.

The announcement culminates years of work by United Way staff, its board of directors, and community volunteers, including adopting of a new organizational strategic plan in April. The new three-year plan includes new grant opportunities for 2025 and beyond, to be announced in early 2024.
